Seven athletes from Lviv Oblast represent Ukraine at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in South Korea

The IV Winter Youth Olympic Games will be held in the Korean city of Gangwon-do from January 19 to February 1. This is the largest competition among athletes aged 15-18, held once every four years, starting from 2012.

Athletes of the national team of Ukraine will compete in 12 of the 15 sports disciplines included in the YUOI-2024 program, namely in biathlon, alpine skiing, curling, ski dueling, ski racing, ski jumping, luge, skeleton, snowboarding , figure skating, freestyle and short track.

Lviv Oblast is represented by seven athletes: six will compete in luge and one in alpine skiing.

TOBOGGAN:

🔹Daria Nekoteneva (single sled)
🔹Svetlana Solovei, Hartsula Anna-Maria (double sleigh)
🔹Aleksandr Oleshchenko, Andriy Mokh (two-seater sled)
🔹Muts Andriy, Panchuk Maksym (Ternopil region) (two-seater sleds).

Our sledders represent the “Lviv Professional College of Sports” at competitions, they train under the leadership of Oleg Zherebetskyi and Svitlana Zhidkova. And the coaches of the Ukrainian national luge team are Lviv natives Ivan Baik and Ihor Stakhiv.

Luge competitions will be held on January 20-23:

🔸January 20 – girls (single), boys (double)
🔸January 21 – boys (single), girls (double)
🔸January 23 – team relay.

MOUNTAIN SKIING:

Oleksandr Patsagan

Oleksandr is a representative of the Slavic Complex Children’s and Youth Sports School, his coaches are Ksenia Patsagan and Oleksiy Karpushyn.

Alpine skiing competitions will be held on January 21-26.
