On December 21, at 7:55 p.m., the Rescue Service “101” received a report about a fire in the village of Verchany of the Stryi district in a wooden residential building, the size of 7×10 m.
Rescuers from the 8th State Fire and Rescue Department of Stryi were sent to the scene.
By the time the fire and rescue unit arrived at the scene of the call, the building was engulfed in flames. The rescuers immediately began work on extinguishing the fire.
The fire destroyed household items on an area of 15 sq.m., a wooden floor on an area of 15 sq.m., 3 wooden doors, 2 wooden windows, a wooden floor on an area of 50 sq.m., and 2 trees. windows
The bodies of a man born in 1959 and a woman born in 1975 were found at the scene of the fire.

At 8:19 p.m., the fire was localized and at 9:03 p.m. it was extinguished by the gas and smoke protection service unit. 12 personnel and 2 units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
