This action was initiated by the Association of Families of Defenders of Azovstal.
Yesterday, July 23, a race was held in different parts of Ukraine as part of the “Running for Azovstal” sports flash mob.
In Lviv, more than 200 people joined the action. The Lviv Regional Center for Physical Health of the Population “Sports for All” helped organize the race.
The highlight of the Lviv campaign was a separate children’s race. Another feature of this race was that instead of the starting number, the participants had stickers with the hashtag #RunforAzovstal, because the main goal of the race was to remind the world about the heroism of the defenders of Mariupol.
Among those who covered the distances are the mother and sister of the 26-year-old defender of “Azovstal” Svyatoslav Syry, who is currently in Russian captivity.
“I have very positive impressions from the race. I was amazed that more than two hundred people came to support our relatives. The participants of the flash mob not only came to the sports event, but also viewed the exhibition, spread the hashtag #runforazovstal in social networks, and also actively bought various products, the proceeds of which will go to help the defenders who will return from captivity. The relatives of the Heroes of Mariupol also took part in the race. They, like me, felt the support of caring Lviv residents and guests of the city who joined the flash mob. By the way, together with the residents of the city, Ukrainians also ran from many cities of Ukraine, in particular from Kharkiv and Donetsk region,” says sister Dzvenislava Syra.
The girl says: I really hope that the boys feel this support. During communication with many relatives of the defenders, I heard that they will definitely show photos and videos from these events to the boys when they return from captivity.
