A resident of the village of Zabuzhzhia, which is part of the Sokal UTC, appealed to the Sokal City Council.
The villagers are afraid that a private company wants to build a poultry farm in the cowsheds located in the village.
According to Oleh Hrytsyshyn, a deputy of the Sokal City Council, the poultry farm is designed for 1 million heads.
According to the size of the sanitary protection zones, if the farm is to accommodate more than 100,000 to 400,000 laying hens and more than 1 million to 3 million broilers per year, the sanitary zone in relation to residential buildings, children’s and medical institutions, as well as in the absence or insufficient treatment of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, in the presence of unfavourable conditions for the dispersion of harmful substances in the air and unfavourable aerological conditions in the area of future construction, should be 1,000 metres.
The appeal states that the sanitary protection zones include a kindergarten and the houses of the villagers.
The appeal was signed by 78 residents of Zabuzhzhya village.
