A 64-year-old man from Lviv was informed of the suspicion under the procedural guidance of the Sambir district prosecutor’s office. He is accused of organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in December of this year, the suspect illegally crossed the state border outside the checkpoints of four people of draft age.
He priced his shipping services at $2,000 to $9,000 per person. The funds were to be handed over to him by the relatives of conscripted men after they entered the territory of the Republic of Poland.
However, the latter were detained there by employees of the border service of the neighboring state.
At the prosecutor’s request, the detainee was remanded in custody with the right to post bail.
Investigations are ongoing, all persons involved in the crime are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the investigators of the Sambir district police department of the GU NP in the Lviv region under the operational support of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment of the DPS of Ukraine and the Migration Police Department of the GU NP in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
