During a dispute he tried to kill his friend – suspect taken into custody
Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, a 25-year-old man was served a notice of suspicion of attempted murder (Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in July this year, in one of the hotel and restaurant complexes in Yavoriv district, the suspect was drinking alcohol with his friend. During the meal, a conflict broke out between the men. During the argument, the suspect grabbed a glass bottle, smashed it against the concrete pavement, and stabbed the victim in the neck with the part that remained in his hand.
This caused an incised penetrating wound to the neck with damage to the blood vessels and trachea.
However, the victim survived as he received timely medical care and was hospitalized.
The suspect was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing. A number of examinations have been ordered.
At the request of the prosecutor, the suspect was chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of detention without the right to be released on bail.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
