Law enforcement officers once again appeal to citizens – be as attentive and careful as possible while at railway stations. Remember that the railway is a high-danger zone.
The event took place on August 29, around 11:30 a.m., at the Vybranivka railway station in the village of the same name.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, a high-speed train on the route “Ivano-Frankivsk – Lviv”, moving in the direction of Lviv, ran into a 46-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, who was sitting on the track and did not respond to the sound signal.
The man died at the scene from his injuries.
As a matter of fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway, water or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to ten years.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
