
In Horodok, the police have identified a potential suspect who assaulted a veteran. A criminal case has been initiated, a pre-trial investigation is underway, and expert examinations have been appointed.
On 18 March, a 46-year-old resident of Horodok, a combat veteran who had been held in Russian captivity for a long time, contacted the police. According to him, on 17 March at around 22:30 on Aviatsiyna Street in Horodok, during a sudden conflict, an unknown individual inflicted bodily harm on him.
Operatives from the criminal police, investigators, and officers from other services of Police Department No.1 of the Lviv District Police Department No.2 identified the man likely involved in the crime. He turned out to be a 39-year-old resident of Horodok, a serviceman on leave.
Investigators from the territorial police unit, under the procedural guidance of the prosecution authorities, have initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 122 (Intentional Bodily Harm of Medium Severity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for punishment in the form of corrective labour for up to two years, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for up to three years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and expert examinations have been appointed.
