The Frankiv district prosecutor’s office of the city of Lviv conducts procedural management in criminal proceedings based on the fact of acquisition, receipt and storage of material values from the territory of a defense enterprise, which were known to have been obtained criminally unlawfully (Part 1 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
During searches of a trade pavilion in one of Lviv’s markets, law enforcement officers discovered and seized more than 18,000 spare parts for military aircraft, including MIG aircraft.
A search was also conducted on the territory of another region, at the place of residence of a person involved in the commission of a criminal offense, where more than 40,000 similar spare parts, technical documentation, telephones and other physical evidence were also found.
According to preliminary estimates, the value of the seized is more than UAH 250 million.
Urgent investigative actions are ongoing, the issue of appointing a number of examinations and identifying persons involved in the commission of the crime is being resolved.
Taking into account that, according to specialists, the seized spare parts belong to the category of scarce components, the issue of their fastest transfer to the needs of the Armed Forces will be resolved.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Department of the National Police of the region under the operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Lviv Region of the National Police of Ukraine.
