A 39-year-old Ukrainian man was on his way to Poland through the Hrushiv checkpoint in the Lviv region.
In order to cross the border under martial law, in addition to his passport, the man provided the border control inspector with documents about studying in Poland. During the inspection, border guards found documents with signs of forgery.
The exposure did not stop the evader, he tried to “solve the issue” by bribery. The border outfit refused the offer of a substantial bribe of $1,000.
Based on this fact, the employees of the State Border Guard Service sent a notification about the commission of a criminal offense under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code “Offering or providing an unlawful benefit to an official.” The man will also be responsible for the use of forged documents when crossing the border – according to Art. 358 of the Criminal Code “Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps”.
The border guards handed over the bribe-giver to the National Police.
