A resident of Crimea has been taken into custody in Lviv on suspicion of treason

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 58-year-old resident of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was reported on suspicion of treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, from 2014 to 2021 the suspect held a leading position in one of the illegally created “ministries of the ARC”, which contributed to the establishment of the Russian occupation authorities and assisted in subversive activities against Ukraine.

Thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement officers, she was exposed in Lviv in April this year.

The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention with the right to post UAH 4 million bail.

The woman faces up to 15 years in prison for this offense.

Pre-trial investigation and operational support in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
