Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi was born 157 years ago
“He was a great son of the Universal Catholic Church. A great Ukrainian, scientist, art critic, humble worshiper and Metropolitan, whose equal is not easy to find not only in our history, but in general in the last century of our Church. In every area, he is active in writing, in word, and in deed, literally until the last breath of life. In short, he was an honor and decoration of our Church and People.”
(From the farewell speech of Patriarch Yosif (Blind), delivered at the funeral of the Servant of God Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, Lviv, November 5, 1944. B.)
