Lviv won 100,000 euros in The European Capital of Innovation contest

As part of The European Capital of Innovation award, Lviv received 100,000 euros for the implementation of city projects using innovative technologies.

It became known today during the awarding ceremony of the competition held in Marseille (France).

Lviv’s application for participation in the competition was submitted by the team of the Lviv Bureau of European Integration, headed by Olena Pavlyuk. In her opinion, the status of a finalist of the “European Capital of Innovation” will give Lviv investment attractiveness and visibility in the international arena, as well as bring a lot of new contacts. In addition, it is an opportunity to recommend Lviv as a powerful partner city for cooperation and to attract funds for the development of the city.

Together with Lviv, Warsaw won the same award. Instead, Lisbon became the winner of the competition, i.e. the European Capital of Innovation 2023.

“It is a great honor for Lviv to be a finalist of the “European Capital of Innovation” award. We told international colleagues about the innovations of our city, in particular about the UNBROKEN ecosystem – as the largest of them.

Today, Lviv received a certificate in the amount of 100,000 euros for the center, which will help with the creation of various inventions that are now very necessary in the field of medical technology. This will help us already now to implement innovations for quality treatment of our Heroes. This is very valuable,” said First Deputy Mayor Andriy Moskalenko.
