Youth from the Yavorivska community sent 3,000 trench candles to the front lines

In their free time, children from the village of Glynytsia come to the local People’s House and, together with their friends and classmates, make candles for the front.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine, residents and children in every settlement of the region’s communities have been doing everything possible to support our Warriors and help drive the enemy out of their native land as soon as possible.

Therefore, in the village of Hlynytsia, children do not stand aside either. Every week they gather at the People’s House and make trench candles for the Armed Forces with their own hands. The day before, they got together again and made 150 trench candles. The head of the People’s House of the village helped the young volunteers. Olga Misyk of Hlynytsia.

The process of making a candle consists of several stages and requires attention. First, you need to prepare the base for candles – tins. Next, cut the cardboard into separate strips, the size of which depends on the size of the can. At the same time, it is worth preparing wax or paraffin, melting it on fire to fill the pre-made candle.

Trench candles come in different sizes and perform different functions at the front. The smallest ones burn for about 1.5-2 hours. They can easily be taken with you in your pocket in case of need. Medium ones will burn for an average of 4 hours. They will easily help you heat food or water to make tea. And the largest candles burn from 6 to 8 hours, depending on the size of the can. Thanks to them, you can not only heat, but also cook food.

In total, the children made and sent 3,000 trench candles to the front lines for local defenders.
