In the Lviv region, the memory of the victims of Babyny Yar was commemorated

Today, September 29, at the Memorial to the Victims of the Lviv Jewish Ghetto, the memory of all the people who were shot dead 81 years ago in Babyny Yar, on the outskirts of Kyiv, was commemorated.

Representatives of the Lviv OVA, head of the Lviv RVA Khrystyna Zamula, representatives of the public and clergy took part in the commemoration. The participants of the event laid flowers at the monument and lit lamps.

“81 years have passed, this is the period during which, it would seem, the world learned the lessons of history, became civilized, and human life is the greatest value, and this year many settlements of Ukraine had to experience their own pitfalls. Putin’s totalitarian regime brutally tortures, rapes, kills and burns Ukrainians. Bucha, Izyum, Mariupol and other cities and villages are evidence of yet another genocide on Ukrainian lands. Do not hide the truth! And we are already giving a worthy fight back.” – Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv OVA, said.

We will remind you that on September 29-30, 1941, the Nazis shot 34,000 Jews. During the next two years, about 100,000 civilians and prisoners of war – Jews, Roma, underground members of the OUN, curfew violators, psychiatric hospital patients and ordinary civilians who tried to save those condemned to be shot.
