On October 23, at 04:32, the Rescue Service “101” received a report about a fire in the city of Lviv on Ave. Krasnoy Kalina. The fire broke out in an apartment on the fourth floor of a nine-story residential building.
This was reported in the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Lviv region.
Rescuers from the 29th and 30th state fire and rescue units of Lviv went to the scene.
When firefighters arrived at the scene of the call, thick black smoke was billowing out of the windows of the apartment where the fire started.
Because of heavy smoke, the rescuers had to work in special respiratory and eye protection devices.
Smoke from the burning apartment quickly filled the stairwell, due to which not all residents of the higher floors could go outside. Therefore, firefighters in special apparatus for the protection of breathing and vision with the help of rescue devices rescued 4 people, including 2 children, from the smoky apartments and brought 20 people to fresh air.
The body of a dead man was found in one of the rooms during the fire extinguishing works in the burning apartment. The deceased was the owner of the apartment, a man born in 1984.
At 05:00, firefighters localized the fire and extinguished it at 05:05.
As a result of the fire, the fire destroyed household items on an area of 10 sq.m., interior doors on an area of 3 sq.m., windows on an area of 4 sq.m., wall and ceiling coverings on an area of 30 sq.m.
20 personnel and 5 units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire
