A stork in trouble: how rescuers and local residents joined forces
On 26 June, at 22:54, rescuers received a report that a stork, a symbol of good news and happiness, was in trouble in the village of Pidberiztsi, Lviv district, after getting tangled in wires. Concerned villagers immediately turned to the rescuers for help.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service.
Using a retractable ladder, the rescuers of the 61st State Fire and Rescue Unit in Vynnyky carefully removed the stork. However, this was not the only challenge for the bird. The stork’s legs were tangled in a bag. The rescuers untangled the bird’s legs to avoid causing it even more pain.
In turn, the locals decided to take the bird home for further care to treat its wounds and provide it with the necessary treatment.
Thanks to the work of the rescuers and the concern of the villagers, the stork got a second chance at life.
