The traffic accident occurred on December 6, around 6:15 p.m., in the village of Kovyari, Lviv district.
As previously determined by law enforcement officers, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz car, a 61-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region, hit a pedestrian, a 46-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district.
As a result of the accident, the man received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in intensive care.
According to the fact, investigators of police department No. 3 of Lviv district police department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
