The Lviv City Council received an appeal from the private enterprise “Street Hall” regarding the improvement of landscaping around the already formed residential development, as well as the one being formed on the street. Zelenii, 273. This is a plot of land that is located between several apartment buildings, as well as to which a low-rise building is adjacent.
As the chief architect of Lviv, Anton Kolomeytsev, said, earlier in this part of Zelena Street there was an area with water bodies and landscaping, so it needs to be restored and improved. So they plan to restore the recreational component here. Today, this area has self-sowing, swampy terrain, and in some places there are questions about the drainage of rainwater.
The Department of Architecture of the Lviv City Council proposes to significantly minimize any potential development in this area, restore the sports and recreational function and form a small park that will provide leisure and walks for local residents.
“We are restoring the hydrological balance in this area. There is also a swimming pool with all the necessary sports and service facilities. On the 1st floor, we are planning a “green screen” of plants, which will create coziness here. It is also planned to create promenades with a rain garden and sports grounds. Such a “green screen” was implemented in one of the projects in Paris, and we believe that this technology could also be applied here. There will also be a public space here: everything is made of ecological materials, draining surfaces, a maximum of natural elements and wood.
We also believe that, taking into account the good insolation and openness of the object, it is possible to form a natural pool, not a standard one. In this way, we will restore justice from the point of view of areas where there were once natural ponds and lakes, and form it in the form of a pool that is cleaned at the expense of special plants,” said Anton Kolomeytsev.
The park also provides a place for a children’s playground and a climbing wall.
The Department of Architecture of the Lviv City Council received letters of guarantee confirming that the company is ready to finance works on the improvement of the territory.
