In the early hours of February 2, at 03:43, emergency services received a report of a fire in a wooden-brick residential house in Lavochne village, Stryi District.
By the time firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in flames, and dense smoke complicated the rescue operations. Firefighters, equipped with respiratory and vision protection gear, immediately began extinguishing the fire.
During the firefighting efforts, the bodies of three victims were discovered near the entrance: a 91-year-old woman, the homeowner, her 66-year-old daughter, and a 69-year-old man.
The fire was contained by 05:27
