In Malekhiv, one of the photo traps was used to detect a new illegal dump. The offender was forced to remove it. This was reported by the Department of Administration and Community Development of the Lviv City Council.
“Photo traps, purchased for the offices of the Lvivska hromada, are of great help in the fight against littering. For example, one of these photo traps was recently triggered in Malekhiv. Using the photos, the officers quickly identified the place and the person who threw away several bags of household waste. It happened between Doroshenko Street and the river. In this case, no fine was imposed. The offender pleaded guilty and agreed to voluntarily clean up the mess,” said the Lviv City Council’s Department of Administration and Community Development.
By the way, a similar violation was recorded in Bryukhovychi. A local resident dumped household waste on the outskirts of the village. Employees of the hromada office saw her at the site of the violation and asked her to remove it. “The woman assured them that she would take the garbage away. However, she did not do so. So now the office is preparing a corresponding request. If the resident does not remove the garbage even after that, an administrative report on violation of the rules of landscaping will be drawn up against her and submitted to the administrative commission,” the Lviv City Council’s Department of Administration and Community Development added.
As a reminder, photo traps for recording unauthorised garbage dumping have recently been installed in the Bilohirsk Peatlands nature reserve.
