A couple of military medics from the “Karpatska Sich” battalion joined the front line

On Christmas Day, December 25, a couple of defenders from the “Karpatska Sich” battalion got married at the front: military medic Zhenya and hospitalist Oleksandr. This is stated on the Facebook page of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Lviv portal writes.

The wedding ceremony took place on the very front line to the sounds of the walkie-talkie, which transmitted the situation around.

“The war did not prevent love. It is in such a difficult, troubling time that real Ukrainian families are created that know the value of life and freedom. Who are already doing what is possible on the front lines so as not to inherit war. No matter what, love won. And we will also win,” the ZSU says.

It should be noted that during the martial law in Ukraine, the marriage procedure was significantly simplified. You can get married now even without the physical presence of one of the couple. The act of marriage can be witnessed directly by the commander of the unit.

In general, Ukrainians began to marry more often this year. In 11 months in Ukraine, 217,800 couples in love officially became husband and wife, which is more than in 2021.
