From the first days of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the Lviv region has become a humanitarian hub. The day before, about 70 tons of cargo were sent to Ukrainian defenders and internally displaced persons from one of the headquarters located in Lviv.

“During the war, we sent more than 700 trucks, more than 12,000 tons. We send help to all cities and regional centers of Ukraine that needed it. Cargoes are formed in accordance with the requests of the military administration. In particular, one truck has already left for Dnipro, we are loading two trucks that will go to Kyiv region, ”said Yuriy Sobol, coordinator of the humanitarian headquarters.

He emphasizes that the aid they deliver includes food, medicine, clothes, sleeping bags and hygiene products.

“A lot of countries are helping us, North and South America, the UAE, Turkey, and Western Europe. We are grateful to everyone for this support of Ukraine during the fight against the Russian aggressor, “Yuriy Sobol added.

Oleksiy Shevchuk, Head of the Coordination Staff for Humanitarian Aid of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, emphasizes that despite the humanitarian aid that the Lviv Region receives, there is still a constant need for certain goods.

“There is a great need for our region and country in long-term food, hygiene products and medical supplies. We call on all partners and donors to help us continue to fight the Russian Federation and win. Ukraine is now a shield for the whole world, “Oleksiy Shevchuk stressed.

It should be noted that 40 to 100 people work on a volunteer basis in the warehouse every day, depending on the amount of aid that needs to be loaded onto trucks. Anyone who wants to help can come to the headquarters and work for the quick victory of the Ukrainian army over the aggressor.

In total, Lviv Oblast sent more than 15,000 tons of humanitarian aid from all headquarters to other oblasts.
