377 entrepreneurs and 123 co-owners of houses have already received financial assistance from the city for the purchase of electric generators, which is 50% of the cost of electric generators. The enterprises that received compensation in the amount of UAH 13.6 million are catering establishments: cafes and restaurants, grocery stores, mini-bakeries, hairdressers, private educational institutions, etc. Instead, 2.5 million hryvnias of partial compensation for the cost of generators have already been allocated to the balance holders of the buildings.
As emphasized by the Department of Housing and Infrastructure of the LMR, last fall, when due to the actions of the enemy, the citizens and businesses of Lviv found themselves in conditions of frequent power outages, the City Hall developed and implemented programs that provided financial support for the purchase of generators, which were urgently needed.
Thus, from November 2022, the Program of partial compensation for the purchase of electric generators to meet the needs of co-owners of apartment buildings of the Lviv City Territorial Community began operating in Lviv. according to this program, the amount of compensation cannot exceed 50% of the cost of the electric generator, but no more than UAH 30,000. 123 co-owners of buildings have already received compensation in the amount of UAH 2.5 million. Also, from December 2022, a similar program for compensating the partial cost of generators for enterprises began operating in Lviv. They are also compensated by 50%, but no more than UAH 80,000.
“When the war began, the enemy damaged about 40% of the entire energy system of Ukraine, emergency and hourly power outages began. Therefore, there was a need to provide the residents of the building with electricity. Therefore, at the end of last year, we, not the only ones in Ukraine, approved Programs for partial compensation of the cost of generators for both residents and businesses. These are extremely important programs. Residents and entrepreneurs began to actively apply for participation. We even simplified the conditions for residents so that more people could use them,” said the Department of Housing and Infrastructure of the LMR.
“Financial assistance was provided to those enterprises that operate in restaurants and retail establishments of food products, except for alcohol and tobacco. And a mandatory requirement for entrepreneurs is that they must be registered on the territory of the Lviv MTG, because the aid comes from the city budget,” explained the director of the economic development department of the Lviv City Council, Iryna Kulinych.
