In the heart of the full-scale war, the city of Lviv is actively supporting its defenders, having spent over 2.2 billion UAH from the city budget on necessary equipment and gear. About 50,000 residents of Lviv are standing up to defend the state, as reported by the city mayor Andriy Sadovyi during a meeting with the community about the impact of the war on the city.
Lviv has also become a pioneer in creating recruitment centers that invite citizens to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the option to choose from 12 centers. Currently, in collaboration with the ‘Come Back Alive’ fund, the city is organizing a large gathering called ‘Weapons Bearers’ to acquire heavy weaponry.
Meetings with various representatives of the public that took place on January 24 demonstrated the active participation of all segments of society in military and volunteer initiatives that support Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
