Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has made adjustments to the life of every Ukrainian city and its residents. The war has been particularly acutely felt by socially vulnerable groups, as well as by Ukrainians who have had to leave their homes and become internally displaced.
Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, Drohobych City Council has established close cooperation with numerous international charitable foundations and organisations.
Thus, on 27 June, representatives of the International Medical Corps, with whom the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the DGMR cooperates, visited the Drohobych community.
According to Ivan Terletsky, Head of the Department, representatives of the International Medical Corps brought and started distributing more than 300 aid packages with personal hygiene products to women in the privileged category of the Drohobych community. The assistance was directly provided to local residents from low-income families, large families and families raising a child with a disability, as well as IDPs (age 60+).
The distribution of the aid was traditionally organised at the city council. The head of the community, Taras Kuchma, thanked the representatives of the International Medical Corps for actively visiting the Drohobych community and supporting vulnerable people and IDPs. As of today, more than 9,000 IDPs live in the Drohobych community, including 2,000 children.
