Today, at a session of the Lviv City Council, it was agreed to increase the number of employees in critical areas due to new powers. We are talking about the social protection department, district administrations, and the department of veterans’ affairs.
Thus, 50 positions are being added to the Social Protection Department and another 40 positions to all six district administrations. These employees are needed to ensure that it is possible to establish the fact of constant care by military personnel for their sick or disabled relatives who need such care according to a doctor’s report. There is also a heavy burden on those employees who are responsible for all organizational processes to compensate for the destruction caused by missile strikes: from visiting the site of the destruction and providing consultations to residents, to participating in follow-up meetings with residents and reviewing and processing documents for compensation.
“These are the new powers that the government has assigned to local councils. Therefore, we critically lacked employees who would be able to ensure that this work is done. After all, there are a lot of applications and appeals in this regard, and for each of these appeals, we need to process the information and conduct all the necessary examinations,” said Oleksiy Nedilya, head of the city’s social protection department.
Last week, Lviv approved a procedure for issuing certificates of care for relatives to persons liable for military service. This is one of the documents required for a person liable for military service to submit to the Military Commissariat and the Joint Military Commissariat to obtain a deferment from conscription during mobilization. This certificate will be issued by district social security departments.
At the same time, 10 positions were added to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
