The Office for Support of Servicemen and Members of Their Families Has Operated in Lviv: What Assistance Are Provided
On the basis of the Humanitarian Headquarters in Lviv, the Office for Support of Soldiers’ Families has opened. Thanks to the work of specialists of various structures and directions, you can get social, psychological and legal assistance here.
Now the Office is working in test mode, but is already receiving the first appeals from citizens.
“We provide consultations for both the military and their families. The idea is to unite representatives of various organizations that would help them: units of the Armed Forces, social workers, psychologists, lawyers, volunteers, including family members of servicemen. The questions we are asked are different. There were many inquiries about the humanitarian support of our military, about the issuance of various certificates. However, the first thing they need help with is the search for the missing, ”said Anna Kuzyuta, coordinator of the Support Office.
The office was established in accordance with the order of the head of the Lviv OVA. He acts as an advisory body to the administration and also cooperates with the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support, military formations, law enforcement agencies, territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, local governments and social protection in Lviv region.
“Through the efforts of the government, volunteers, charities, our defenders receive a lot of help. However, can we say that it is enough? Probably not, because the war is going on, our enemy is ruthless, so our task is to do everything to support the military on the front lines and provide decent support to their families, who are now in the Lviv region. After all, it is the parents, wives and children of our soldiers who inspire them to fight. The opening of such an Office allows them to receive the necessary social, psychological and legal assistance. This is another step towards victory! ”Said Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv OVA.
Targeted assistance to servicemen and their families is provided at the City Humanitarian Headquarters at 17 Kopernyka Street (Palace of Arts, 2nd floor).
Specialists from the Support Office conduct an initial consultation to determine exactly how the person can be helped, form a package of documents and submit them to the appropriate authorities to resolve the problem. It also provides assistance to relatives and families of servicemen who want to receive social benefits or find their relatives in the registers of missing persons or prisoners.
According to the Office’s lawyer Yaroslav Zhukrovsky, the focus of the work is now on legal support for citizens and legal support of servicemen and members of their families to protect their rights.
