Lviv has changed the principle of payment to carriers for public transportation for privileged people. The relevant decision was approved at the plenary session today.
Therefore, carriers will be compensated not for each preferential validation, as it was before, but for the trip, including free transfers. The changes will not affect the passenger in any way: it is only a matter of settlement between the city and the carriers, of which there are 8 in Lviv: seven that provide bus transportation and Lvivelectrotrans.
That is, if a privileged passenger moves from one vehicle to another within 40 minutes, the city will reimburse the money not for two trips, but only for the first one. And the money will be paid to the carrier in whose transport the first transfer trip was registered.
In total, the city currently pays an average of UAH 60-65 million per month to carriers for privileged transportation. Since about 10% of the beneficiaries now make transfers, the city will save about UAH 6-6.5 million per month.
At the same time, according to the Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure, the carriers will not feel the loss of these amounts significantly. After all, after the introduction of the e-ticket, the profits of road carriers in Lviv have at least doubled.
