This is the largest student competition in Ukraine. They are held under the slogan “TOGETHER WE WILL WIN”.
Today, on January 25, a meeting was held with the heads of regional administrations of the region under the chairmanship of Ivan Sobko, deputy head of the Lviv regional administration, to register schools for participation in the School Leagues Side by Side project.
As noted during the meeting, Khodoriv, Rudky, and Strilky are currently the leaders in registration.
Ivan Sobko emphasized that the project aims to involve the maximum number of children in sports, as well as parents and coaches. Therefore, districts need to intensify their work in this area.
“I invite communities, students, teachers, and coaches to be active. Because sport is about both physical and mental health, which is extremely relevant and important today,” added Ivan Sobko.
We remind that the competition will be held in 5 sports: basketball, volleyball, futsal, orienteering and cheerleading. Both boys and girls will take part in them.
The first stage of the School Games, which took place in our region in October-December 2023, was attended by more than 5,000 students. In total, this year it is planned to involve about 50 thousand students of Lviv region in these competitions.
Currently, the first stage is still underway in our region – competitions in general secondary education institutions, school sports teams are being formed.
The next stage is to determine the winners of the competition among the schools of territorial communities, and they will be eligible to compete in the district competition.

“Side by Side All-Ukrainian School Leagues” is a competition among Ukrainian students under the slogan “TOGETHER WE WILL WIN”. They are held at the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This year, the project will be implemented in 20 regions of Ukraine, including Lviv region. More than 8,000 schools will be able to participate, which is almost 300,000 students.
These competitions will be held annually from September to June. In the 2023/2024 season, the All-Ukrainian School Leagues are scheduled to take place from December 2023 to June 2024.
