A new service has appeared in the offices of the Lviv community – marriage registration in a shortened period. The department of the city agglomeration emphasizes: this service applies exclusively to military personnel. And two young families have already used it in the Community Office in Dublyany.
Such an act can be drawn up without the personal presence of the bride and groom or one of the grooms: one of the couple or both can be present via video link.
The first couple of newlyweds under the new “marriage in a day” service were signed last week.
“A military man and his bride turned to us with a request to sign them according to the accelerated procedure. The military came for a few days from the front. We checked the documents, received certain certificates from the bride and groom, collected a number of documents and registered the marriage, issuing a certificate to the newlyweds, says V. at. head of the office in Dublyany, Iryna Ognista. – Everything was done, in fact, in one day. Although the law allows up to several days.”
And yesterday, August 2, another marriage was registered in the office of Dublyan under the accelerated procedure. One of the future spouses is also a military man. This time it’s the bride.
“Registration of marriage in a shortened period of time, in particular for a day, takes place according to the principle of extraterritoriality, when the place of residence of citizens does not matter. This service was introduced in order to facilitate the marriage registration procedure for newlyweds during wartime. We are talking exclusively about military personnel,” explained the deputy director of the department – the head of the community administration department of the city agglomeration department of the LMR, Iryna Kruglova.
The department added that in order to provide this service efficiently and quickly, the employees of the offices in the Lviv community underwent appropriate training, where they were particularly taught the skills to distinguish cases when it is about marriage, and when it is about an attempt to commit illegal actions. The training was conducted by employees of VDRATSS in Lviv region.
