According to Oleh Bereza, head of the Infrastructure Development and Restoration Service in the Lviv region, it took several days for specialists to install the structure and arrange the access roads in order to ensure the proper passage of motor vehicles through the structure.
“Already today, the first car drove through the crossing. Now it will not be necessary to direct the traffic of cars on communal roads of the city of Drohobych. After all, the detour of the emergency bridge reached 7-8 km and caused a lot of inconvenience for drivers and local residents of the city of Drohobych. Because it affected the speed and safety of traffic, as well as the destruction of streets and communal roads in the city of Drohobych. Thanks to the arranged construction, we have a restored direct connection Lviv – Truskavets – Skhidnytsia,” he noted.
“We installed a metal crossing of the acrow/bailey type, given to us by the Administration of State Material Reserves of the Czech Republic. Such a crossing is suitable for the movement of heavy vehicles. The movement of cars across the crossing is carried out in a reversible order, which is organized with the help of traffic lights,” said Oleg Bereza.
We will remind, at the beginning of 2023, one of the beams of the old bridge collapsed as part of the Skhidnytsia – Pisochna road. Built back in 1964, the building was in a state of disrepair. To avoid a complete collapse of the bridge, traffic was blocked. Until today, the entire traffic flow went through the city of Drohobych.
