Low rates of immunisation coverage in the Lviv Oblast are observed in 10 hromadas.
The Lviv Oblast Centre for Disease Control and Prevention reported which hromadas are in the “anti-rating” of immunisation coverage in the Lviv Oblast for 10 months of this year.
Thus, the average coverage rate of preventive vaccinations against pertussis, diphtheria and tetanus among the population of Lviv Oblast as of 1 November is 54.7%. The same figure for 10 months in Ukraine is 68%.
In the Lviv Oblast, the following communities have the lowest vaccination coverage according to the Calendar over 10 months:
- Turkivska – 28.1%;
- Ivano-Frankivsk – 32.2%;
- Solonkivska – 40.2%;
- Sudovovyshnyanska – 35.3%;
- Shehynivska – 39.4%;
- Yavorivska – 42.2%;
- Murovsky – 44.5%;
- Davydivska – 45.7%;
- Lviv – 46.9%;
- Skhidnytsia – 47.2 per cent.
“Low vaccination coverage poses a threat to the epidemiological well-being of the population of Lviv Oblast and can contribute to the outbreaks and epidemics of infectious diseases. The insufficient level of vaccination coverage does not allow for a safe environment in organised groups, educational institutions, etc. This threatens to undermine the public health system, which is extremely unacceptable, given that immunoprophylaxis is a matter of national security, especially during the war and the increased risk of infectious diseases,” said Natalia Ivanchenko, Director General of the Lviv Oblast Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
