April 26 marks the 37th anniversary of the greatest man-made disaster in human history. Today we honor the memory of the liquidators who sacrificially, at the cost of their own lives, protected us from radiation pollution, we express our gratitude to every participant in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP, who paid for the chance of millions of lives with their own health and saved the future for their descendants.
According to the information of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, there are 290 citizens registered as victims of the Chernobyl disaster, namely:
– 49 citizens – persons belonging to category 1 victims (including 4 internally displaced persons);
– 78 citizens – persons who belong to the victims of category 2;
– 71 citizens – persons who belong to the affected 3 categories;
– 14 citizens – wives of deceased liquidators, whose death was related to the Chernobyl disaster;
– 78 children who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster.
