In the Sokal region, events were held to mark the 80th anniversary of the formation of the UPA, the Day of the Cossacks, the Day of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God and the Day of the Defender of Ukraine
In the morning, in the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Sokal, a festive Divine Liturgy was held, which was presided over by Father Yaroslav Kashchuk, the Mitrophoric Archpriest.
Therefore, a prayer for Ukraine, for Peace and Defenders was held near the Heroes’ stele in Sokal. Welcoming words were delivered by Mayor Serhii Kasyan, Head of the First Department of the Chervonohrad RTCC and SP Lyubomir Brodyuk, Deputy of the Regional Council Oleg Fenchyn, participant in the liberation struggle, Honorary Citizen of the city of Sokal Mykhailo Kutsyaba.
After that, the military, government officials, families of the fallen Heroes and community representatives went to the city cemetery, where Fr. Andrii Dutchak sent a memorial service for the fallen and deceased Heroes, the participants of the event placed flowers on their graves and lit lamps.
May God give courage and strength to our Defenders to defeat the enemy. Let every family wait for its Hero with victory! We pray for you, our Defenders!
