Khrystyna Pogranichna from Lviv won three awards at the World Universiade

The World Summer Universiade is underway in the Chinese city of Chengdu. The student national team of Ukraine is represented by 61 athletes. They compete in 10 sports. Khrystyna Pogranichna from Lviv has already won the award for our country.

The 20-year-old athlete won a silver medal in the all-around in the individual championship. Khrystyna is a student of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University and Ivan Bobersky Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

The athlete is trained by the honored coach of Ukraine Iryna Ruda. The girl is learning rhythmic gymnastics at the Complex Children’s and Youth Sports School named after Dmytro Sydoruk. Khrystyna also qualified for all the finals taking place today. Khrystyna has already won gold in the individual hoop exercise. She also placed first in the individual ribbon exercise.

Khrystyna’s sports career was told by the Border Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv OVA in the cycle of stories “On the Edge”.

The silver award was also won yesterday by the national team in group exercises in all-around. Prize winners of the Universiade were Daria Shcherbakova, Marta Borys, Anastasia Ptashnyk, Daria Ivanyk, Nikol Krasiuk, Diana Dovganyuk. Marta and Anastasia represent Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University, and Daria represents Ivan Franko Lviv National University. Today, the girls also won third place in the 5-hoop group exercise.

It should be noted that, in total, approximately 7,000 participants from 115 countries of the world compete for awards at the competition. They represent 900 universities. 269 sets of medals will be played in 18 sports.
