On 30 August, the community of Sokal welcomed the Hero soldier Oleksandr Knei. The rite of parastasis and funeral took place in the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
The sad news was reported by Father Volodymyr Zharsky.
The service was led by Metropolitan Archpriest Yaroslav Kashchuk and the clergy of the city and district.
Father Yaroslav addressed the grieving family and expressed his sincere condolences to the Hero of Ukraine’s mother, family and grieving community.
At the cemetery, the First Deputy Mayor Mykola Pasko addressed the funeral community, expressing his sincere condolences and kneeling before the Hero of Ukraine’s mother and the Sokal community.
Oleksandr was buried with full military honours on the Alley of Heroes of Glory of the Newest Heroes of Ukraine.
