
In Lviv, on 8th May, a farewell ceremony will be held for Roman Kholyavka, who died defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. The city authorities urge residents of Lviv and visitors to join the ceremony and refrain from participating in entertainment activities at this time.
The funeral service will commence at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul, followed by a municipal ceremony at Rynok Square at approximately 11:30. The defender will be laid to rest at Lychakiv Cemetery.
Roman Kholyavka was born on 2nd October 1996. He attended secondary school No. 100 in Lviv and qualified as a car mechanic-electrician. Prior to military service, he worked at “Avtotsentr Tsiklon” LLC.
After the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he joined the 125th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade, defending the territorial integrity on the Luhansk, Southern Slobozhansky, and Donetsk fronts. For his demonstrated courage, he was awarded many distinctions, including the Order “For Courage” III class.
Roman is survived by his family: his wife, parents, brother, and two sisters.
