
On 20th May, Lviv will honour the memory of Andriy Lyashenko and Yuriy Dutka, who perished defending Ukraine against Russian aggression. Residents of the city are asked to join the ceremony and refrain from festive activities.
The farewell service will take place at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul at 11:00, followed by a city-wide ceremony at Rynok Square at 11:30. The defenders will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery, at the Field of Honour no. 87.
Andriy Lyashenko was born on 18th May 1984 in Lviv. He received his primary education at the Hrono Lyceum and continued his studies at the Lviv College of Food Technologies. He worked as an electric gas welder. He had a deep love for nature and was a loyal friend. He fought with the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
Yuriy Dutka, born on 10th December 1982, hailed from Boryslav. He studied at Lviv School No. 91 and the Chemistry Faculty of Lviv National University. He worked at the Boryslav REMA plant. Known for his kind character, he was always willing to help others. He was a member of the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade.
