Volodymyr Andriyovych Svystovych was born and lived in the village of Smolyn, part of the Yavoriv community. He completed his secondary education at the local school and continued his studies at the Brody Pedagogical College. After graduating, he pursued higher education at Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after V. Hnatyuk, earning a degree as a teacher. For 17 years, he dedicated himself to teaching at the Smolyn school.
Colleagues and students referred to him as a teacher by vocation. Known for his honesty, fairness, responsibility, and kindness, Volodymyr earned immense respect and love.
Beyond his professional life, Volodymyr was an exemplary family man and caretaker. He tended to his garden, beekeeping, and farm while prioritizing the well-being of his large family, which included his wife, children, mother, brother, and nieces and nephews.
In April 2024, Volodymyr joined the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment, serving at the Salashi Border Inspection Point. He took on his duty of protecting the state border with great diligence, actively participating in training to enhance his skills and knowledge.
Later, he was deployed to the Luhansk region near the village of Bilohorivka, where he was critically injured during combat missions. He was hospitalized at the Kharkiv military hospital. Despite his optimism and assurances to his wife that he would recover, Volodymyr’s brave heart suddenly stopped on December 11, 2024.
The community extends its heartfelt condolences to Volodymyr’s family, friends, and comrades-in-arms. Tomorrow, a ceremony to honor the Hero will take place, with the exact time and location to be announced later.
Eternal memory to the defender of Ukraine! 🙏🏻
