
On Monday, 30 March, residents and visitors of Lviv will honour the memory of serviceman Roman Hrytskyi, who died for Ukraine’s freedom in the confrontation with Russian occupiers. The city authorities urge the community to join the ceremony and refrain from entertainment.
The memorial service will begin at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. At 11:30, a city-wide farewell ceremony is scheduled at the Rynok Square, and at 12:00 at the family home on Shevchenka Street, 372. The final farewell will take place at 12:30 at the Church of the Holy Trinity on Shevchenka Street, 311, after which the burial will take place at the Riasne Cemetery.
Roman Hrytskyi, born on 5 April 1994, attended Lviv Secondary School No. 92 and the Lviv Higher Polytechnic College. He was a forklift driver, loved fishing and cooking, and found joy in cooking for his loved ones. From 2024, he defended Ukraine on the Kursk direction as part of the 17th Heavy Mechanised Brigade. Roman leaves behind his mother, brother, and family.
