Lvivshchyna Honors the Memory of Heroes Who Died for Ukraine

Every day at 9:00 AM, the entire nation pauses for a moment of silence to honor those who sacrificed their lives defending Ukraine from Russian aggression. Today, Lvivshchyna bids farewell to four brave warriors whose lives were dedicated to protecting their homeland.

Sviatoslav Dmytruk, a native of Skobelka village in Volyn region, was a determined and patriotic man. After completing his mandatory military service in 2016–2017, he joined the ranks of the 79th Air Assault Brigade following the full-scale invasion. His life was tragically cut short on February 5, 2024.

Lviv resident Taras Syssyn stood to defend Ukraine as soon as the Russian invasion began. He served in the 79th Air Assault Brigade, carrying out combat missions in Donetsk region. He died in the line of duty on July 29, 2024.

Roman Cheslavskyi, known by the call sign “Kant,” was born in Vynnyky, Lviv region. When the war started, he volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After training abroad, Roman took part in missions in Sumy, Donetsk, and Kharkiv regions as part of the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade. He lost his life on January 17.

Andrii Ilchyshyn, a resident of Potorytsia in Sokal community, served as a senior rifleman-operator in military unit A7400. He died on January 5 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Berdin in Russia’s Kursk region.

Today, Lvivshchyna bows its head in respect to the courage of its heroes and extends its condolences to their families. Their sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of the Ukrainian people. Eternal glory to them all.
