Today, Sokal district said goodbye to soldier Yuriy Kapleta

On February 25, Sokal district said goodbye to the Hero of Ukraine Yuriy Kapleta.

The burial ceremony of the soldier Yuriy was led by Metropolitan Archpriest Yaroslav Kashchuk and the clergy of the city. This was reported by Volodymyr Zharsky.

In his eulogy, Father Yaroslav addressed the Hero’s mother, Iryna, and expressed his gratitude for raising a son who was a true patriot of Ukraine and fought for Ukraine’s independence and freedom for 8 years.
His feat for Ukraine’s Independence will live forever in the memory of the people of Sokal.

From the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the funeral procession moved to the local cemetery, where the burial was completed on the Alley of Heroes.

Yuriy Kapleta was a defender, public figure, volunteer, and patriot of Ukraine. He was born on December 3, 1986 in the city of Sokal. He studied at Sokal secondary school № 5. From the first days of the Revolution of Dignity, he fought for the European future on the Independence Square in Kyiv. He participated in the creation of the 10th Hundred of the Maidan Self-Defense. He held the position of a tensman, was responsible for the protection of the 1st and 2nd floors of the Trade Union Building. He took an active part in the events that took place on the Maidan.
