Doctors of the Lviv Regional Council Okhmatdyt Children’s Regional Clinical Hospital together with specialists of the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine performed a complex two-hour operation on a 21-day-old baby girl from Ivano-Frankivsk.
According to Olga Kuryliak, a cardiologist at Okhmatdyt, the extended surgical plastic surgery of the aortic coarctation was performed urgently within two hours. The condition of the operated little patient is stable, her life is saved.
It should be noted that last week the Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was evacuated from Lviv to Kyiv. Therefore, the cooperation of Lviv and Kyiv doctors, including in the equipped premises of the Lviv Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital “Okhmatdyt” will give an opportunity to fight for the health and life of children with serious illnesses under martial law.
