Tomorrow, January 8, Lviv will honor the memory of two brave servicemen, Myroslav Lushchak and Ihor Hromoklytskyi, who gave their lives defending Ukraine from Russian aggression. The city council urges residents and visitors to join the farewell ceremony and refrain from entertainment activities on this solemn day.
Ceremony Details:
- 11:00 AM – Funeral service at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
- 11:30 AM – City-wide farewell ceremony at Rynok Square.
- The heroes will be laid to rest at Lychakiv Cemetery.
Myroslav Lushchak’s Biography
- Date of Birth: March 27, 1985.
- Date of Death: December 28, 2024.
Myroslav was a native of Lviv. He studied at Secondary School No. 11 (now Lviv Law Gymnasium) and graduated from the Lviv Music-Pedagogical College named after Filaret Kolessa. After completing his education, he served in the military.
A talented musician, Myroslav mastered the synthesizer and accordion. Following the full-scale invasion, he joined the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment, serving in combat missions in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
He is survived by his grandmother, mother, wife, daughter, and other close relatives.
Ihor Hromoklytskyi’s Biography
- Date of Birth: October 12, 1976.
- Date of Death: January 1, 2025.
Ihor was born in Donetsk, where he attended School No. 83 and later graduated from the Donetsk Mining Technical School. He served in the National Guard of Ukraine.
Before the war, Ihor worked in the cosmetics manufacturing sector, practiced boxing, and was passionate about history. In 2014, his family relocated to Lviv. With the onset of the full-scale invasion, Ihor joined the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He is survived by his wife and daughter.
