Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to the native of Mariupol, Hero Sergey Butyrin

Tomorrow, December 26, Lviv will say goodbye to Serhii Butyrin, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

 

Serhii Butyrin (14.03.1991-15.11.2022) Born in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region.
He graduated from the Mariupol Vocational Lyceum of Services and Trade with a specialty of “electric gas welder”.

After completing his studies, he completed military service in the Donetsk region. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the terrorist state, he defended his native Mariupol as part of self-defense units. Subsequently, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was a senior gunner of the 1st grenade launcher division of the fire support platoon of the 1st airborne company of military unit A0641.

Serhiy Butyrin is survived by his parents and son.
