Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes – Vitaly Melnyk, Roman Prendota, Volodymyr Suholytky defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders

Tomorrow, November 22, Lviv will say goodbye to three more Heroes. Vitaly Melnyk, Roman Prendota, Volodymyr Sukholitky defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Vitaly Melnyk and Roman Prendota will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery, Volodymyr Suholytky – in Solonka, Lviv region, where he lived.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Vitaly Melnyk (17.08.1992-16.11.2022). A native of Lviv.

He studied at the general secondary education institution No. 87 of the Lviv City Council named after Iryna Kalynets. In peacetime, he worked in the security sector in Lviv.

During 2016-2019, he performed combat missions in the area of ​​the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation.

After returning to civilian life, he worked at the Lviv communal enterprise “Municipalna Varta”.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he served in the Armed Forces. He fought against the Russian occupiers in “hot spots” as part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Vitaly Melnyk is survived by his mother and two sons.

 

Roman Prendot (April 9, 1983-November 11, 2022). A native of the city of Drohobych, Lviv region.

As a child, he lived in the city of Khyriv. He studied at the institution of general secondary education of the I-III degrees-lyceum named after Vladyka Ivan Khoma in the city of Khyriv. Being the winner of numerous Olympiads, he entered Lviv Polytechnic National University out of competition. During his studies, he additionally graduated from the military department.

He lived in the capital for more than 20 years. He worked at the limited liability company “APT Ukraine Group”, worked his way up from the designer to the chief engineer of the project department.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he volunteered to defend the Motherland. He fought against the Russian invaders in the ranks of the 68th separate hunting brigade of the Reserve Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Roman Prendota is survived by his parents and wife.

 

Volodymyr Sukholitky (13.08.1976-19.11.2022). A native of Tysmenytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Later, the family moved to Lviv. Studied at secondary comprehensive school No. 86. In 1998, he graduated from the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, majoring in Finance and Credit. Additionally, he obtained a law degree at the Lviv University of Trade and Economics.

Reserve colonel. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 20 years. In 2005, he was part of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent in the Republic of Iraq.

With the beginning of Russian aggression, he performed combat missions in the area of ​​the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He held the positions of head of the financial service of military units A2242, A3896, A3581, head of the organizational department of the financial and economic management of the Operational Command “North”.

During 2016-2018, he worked at the Western Territorial Department of Internal Audit of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, then at the Lviv Research Institute of Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and was the head of the financial service.

Volodymyr Suholytky is survived by his parents, wife and two sons.
