On Thursday, January 18, the Lviv community will say goodbye to servicemen Andrii Filaret and Adam Glomb, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders.
The funeral service of Andrii Filaret will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Ascension on St. Shirokiy in Lviv, the soldier will be buried in the village of V’yazov of Zhovkiv district.
The funeral service of Adam Glomb will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The defender will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.
Biographical references of defenders
Andrii Filaret (January 1, 1974-January 9, 2024). A native of Lviv.
He studied at the “Grono” Lyceum of the Lviv City Council (at that time – Secondary School No. 64). Acquired the profession of “electronics technician” at the former Lviv Technical School of Industrial Automation.
After completing his studies, he worked at Spektr Service Center Limited Liability Company and at the distribution company BERTA Group. In his free time, he was fond of fishing, mushroom picking and actively traveled.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the Russian invaders. Performed combat missions to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Andrii Filaret is survived by his parents, wife, daughters, nephews, sister, brother and a large loving family.
Adam Glomb (February 1, 1985-January 13, 2024). A native of Lviv.
He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 49 of the city of Lviv. Later, he entered the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution “Lviv Vocational Polytechnic Lyceum” (then Vocational and Technical School No. 33 of the city of Lviv).
Adam Glomb was a “jack of all trades”, an extremely cheerful, sensitive, sincere, kind, hardworking and generous person. He adored active recreation, hiking in the mountains and recreation at sea.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he returned from abroad and became a member of the 5th border detachment of the Eastern Regional Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine to defend the Motherland from the invaders. He was wounded while serving in the Donetsk region, but returned to the front without hesitation.
Adam Glomb is survived by his mother, brother, three sisters with their families and siblings.
