Lviv to present “Lviv Water Vision 2100” on the future of its water system

On 2 June in Lviv, the project “Lviv Water Vision 2100” will be presented, within which residents, experts, environmentalists and hydrologists will discuss a long-term vision for the development of the city’s water system.

The Water Vision concept was developed following a series of workshops, expert discussions and joint work involving residents, urban planners, environmentalists, hydrologists and representatives of the municipal sector.

During the presentation, the outcomes will be presented across seven key areas: water supply and groundwater, centralised and decentralised sewerage, stormwater management, the role of rivers and ponds in the urban environment, the impact of urban planning on the water balance of territories, as well as water education and a culture of responsible water use.

There will also be a separate focus on Lviv’s adaptation to climate change, nature-based solutions, and the role of water as an important part of urban space and quality of life.

The project is being implemented by LMKP “Lvivvodokanal” in partnership with Lviv City Council and the Municipality of Aarhus (Denmark).

The presentation will take place on Tuesday, 2 June, at 18:00 at the City Museum on Rynok Square 1, in the shelter premises.

The MuMeet event is funded by the “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ)” Foundation under the support programme “yeMistechko — a space for everyone”. The project is organised by the City Museum (LKP “Lviv City Tourism Development Centre” and the “City Museum Development Fund in Lviv” Charitable Foundation) with the partnership support of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of LMR and the State Museum of Natural History of the NAS of Ukraine.

A workshop on stormwater management is also planned. It will take place on Thursday, 4 June, from 09:00 to 12:30 in the Great Session Hall of Lviv City Council.
