On Sunday, December 15, the first stage of the Ukrainian Volleyball Cup took place. In a decisive match, the volleyball club “Danish Textile” from Sokal claimed a confident victory over the team “Lesya Ukrainka University” with a score of 3:0 (25:16, 25:23, 25:20).
Another game in this stage featured a tense battle between “Olymp” from Borshchiv and “Patriot-Veres-Rivne,” where the Rivne team narrowly secured a win with a 3:2 score (25:17, 19:25, 21:25, 25:17, 13:15).
Winning all three matches with a flawless 3:0 score, the “Danish Textile” team secured the top spot in their group and advanced to the second stage of the Ukrainian Cup!
Over three days, Sokal residents enjoyed high-level volleyball performances by four strong teams. Thanks to the efforts of the club’s president, Ihor Triska, Sokal successfully hosted the first stage of the tournament, providing excellent organization and hospitality for both participants and fans.
The second stage of the Ukrainian Cup is scheduled for January 2025. Details about the group lineups and the location of the matches will be announced soon.
